Near the summit of the Weissmeis, Saas Grund, Swiss Alps
The Saastal is a major alpine valley rimmed with 4000m peaks. Many of these are relatively straightforward and some of them can be accessed from mechanical uplift. The ideal place to start your alpine peak bagging career.

In addition to climbing the main summits of the Saastal this is a great area to enjoy some major via ferratas, pleasant huts, valley rock climbing and ropework training.
Suggested fitness and experience level:
These peaks are generally not as long or technically difficult as the Chamonix or Zermatt peaks and therefore suitable for folk with experience of hill walking, scrambling and walking in crampons. They are still physically challenging and folk should be prepared for a number of 5-8 hour days of sustained walking and mountaineering (more if the long approach march to the Strahlhorn is made).
