Chamonix and Zermatt, the world's two great centres of Alpine Mountaineering. Rich in history and ripe with hundreds of superb routes. Neither base however is ideally suited to the beginner. This is the domain of the alpinist. So if you have a background of UK summer and winter mountaineering choose your base and browse the wealth of enticing mountain routes....

This course is designed for folk who want to focus on the quality of the mountaineering. To tackle technically interesting mountaineering routes in a stunning setting. Chamonix and Zermatt can both be busy places, even in the mountains. This is because how good they are is no secret. However by choosing alternative routes, strategic use of huts or even coming at a time out of the main season quiet routes can be climbed.
